Celebrating Craft and Culture at National Heritage Week 2025 in Croom
This August, Croom Civic Centre invites you to step back in time and reconnect with traditional skills as part of National Heritage Week 2025: "Exploring Our Foundations". Join master basket weaver Liam Keelty on Thursday, 21st August from 1 pm to 3 pm for a free, hands-on demonstration of the timeless art of basket weaving.
This engaging session will highlight sustainable craft practices using natural materials and traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase handwoven products on site.
This event supports Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by promoting the use of eco-friendly materials, local crafts, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Come celebrate Irish heritage, craftsmanship, and community spirit — all woven into one enriching afternoon.
