A Proper Easter Day Out for Families in Croom

If you’ve ever watched kids completely lose track of time while playing outside, you’ll know that’s usually a sign you’ve got something right. That’s exactly the feeling we aim for at the Croom Easter Egg Hunt.

This isn’t a rush in and out kind of event. It’s a relaxed, outdoor afternoon where children can play, explore, and enjoy Easter in a way that feels simple and fun. No pressure, no competition, just space to move, laugh, and get stuck into the games.

Set in Croom Town Park, the Easter Egg Hunt has become a favourite for local families because it’s easy going, well organised, and built around what kids actually enjoy doing.

What to Expect

The Easter Egg Hunt is set up as a series of game stations spread around the park. Each station has a different game, and children move through them in order, finding a coloured plastic egg at each stop.

The first game is a bean bag toss, always a great ice breaker and a good way for kids to get comfortable and confident. From there, they move on to the egg and spoon race, this is the opportunity for parents to relieve their sports day from long ago and usually brings plenty of laughs and a bit of friendly cheering from parents, too.

Next up is what we lovingly call the maze. This is a section of grass that’s been cut low in a winding, curved path. Children are given a stick and a ball and have to carefully guide the ball along the path. It’s simple, but it really draws them in and keeps them focused.

The final station is ring toss, which rounds things off nicely and gives children their last coloured egg.

At each station, children hand in the coloured plastic egg they’ve just collected in order to play the next game. Once they reach the end, they hand in their final egg and receive a real chocolate Easter egg.

To add a bit of extra excitement, there are also Golden Eggs hidden every hour. If your child is lucky enough to find one, they’ll win a special Easter prize. It’s always a highlight and adds that little bit of buzz without taking away from the main event.

And the best part? There’s no rush.

Some children like to move quickly through all the games and then go back and play their favourites again. Others prefer to spend more time at each station before moving on. Both are absolutely fine. Children can play the games as many times as they like, and we actively encourage parents to join in too.

It’s very much a shared experience, with lots of smiling faces, encouragement, and moments that make great photos (please note we will not be taking photos this year of children’s faces)

A Relaxed Afternoon for the Whole Family

The event runs in timed sessions, so the park never feels overcrowded. That means children have room to play and parents can relax, chat, and enjoy watching them take part.

There’s something really nice about seeing families spread out across the park, kids running back to repeat a game they loved, and parents getting involved in the fun instead of standing on the sidelines.
