Applications Are Now Open for the 2026 Croom Christmas Craft Market!

When we organised our first Christmas Craft Market, we had no idea just how much it would grow. Each year has brought new vendors, new ideas and new opportunities to make the event even better.

As we're getting ready for our 5th Croom Christmas Craft Market, we're also taking a moment to look back at how far the event has come.

Every year has taught us something new. We've listened, learned and made changes to improve the experience for everyone involved. After each market, we ask our vendors to complete a feedback survey, and their comments and suggestions help shape the following year's event. One of the best things we have done is create a seating area where visitors can enjoy a cup of tea or hot chocolate (and sample cakes or mulled wine, oops, perhaps that’s just me!) and take a break before heading off to browse some more. This really increases dwelling time and allows you a second opportunity with lots of visitors. When I bring my Mum along, having somewhere comfortable for her to sit for a few minutes, giving me a second look, this makes all the difference.

Of course, a successful market doesn't just happen on the day. Every year we put a huge amount of work into promoting the event through social media, local newspapers, posters, and signage. Word of mouth is key; we have had 4 years of events, and visitors in the past have told their families and friends that Croom Craft Market is terrific. We also ask our vendors to share the event with their own followers, helping us reach even more people. It's a real team effort, and it's something that has grown stronger every year.

Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference. From improving the layout of the hall and refining the application process to making practical changes on the day, we've continued to adapt as the market has grown. We don't pretend to have all the answers, but we're always willing to listen and make improvements where we can.

One of the biggest changes we've made over the years is our vendor application process. Rather than offering spaces on a first come, first served basis, we ask everyone to complete a simple application form.

So why do we do it this way? Simply because we want the market to be the best experience possible for everyone involved. By carefully selecting a variety of vendors, we can offer shoppers a fantastic mix of handmade crafts, artwork, home décor, candles, jewellery, artisan food, baked goods, personalised gifts and so much more. It also means you as a vendor, aren't competing with several stalls selling the same products, giving everyone a fair opportunity to showcase what makes their business unique.

As we celebrate our fifth year, we're excited to welcome both familiar faces and new businesses to the market. If you've been thinking about taking part, we'd love to hear from you.

The market takes place on Sunday, 22nd November 2026 in Croom Sports Hall, and applications are now open.

One final thing we'd like to mention is the number of applications we receive each year. It's wonderful to see so many talented makers wanting to be part of the Croom Christmas Craft Market, but it also means we have to make some difficult decisions.

If your application isn't successful, please don't take it as a reflection of the quality of your products. More often than not, it's simply because we already have a vendor offering something similar. Our goal is always to create the best possible variety for both our visitors and our vendors.
